UNEATLANTICO organizes a farewell dinner for its Guatemalan scholarship recipients who will begin their studies at the university

Recently, the Universidad Europea del Atlántico (European University of the Atlantic, UNEATLANTICO), at its representative office in Guatemala, in collaboration with the Fundación Universitaria Iberoamericana (Ibero-American University Foundation, FUNIBER), organized a farewell dinner for its Guatemalan scholarship recipients who will soon begin their undergraduate studies at the university in Santander.

The event took place in the FUNIBER Auditorium and is part of an annual activity organized for those traveling from different Latin American countries to begin their university education at this institution.

The event was attended by Cristina Cruz, Admissions Advisor at UNEATLANTICO in Guatemala, and Emily Marroquín, Admissions Advisor at UNEATLANTICO in Costa Rica; Dr. Eduardo Silva, Executive Director of FUNIBER Guatemala; and Luis Prado, Director of Communications at UNEATLANTICO and university professor. The scholarship recipients also attended, accompanied by their parents.

Dr. Silva opened the event by highlighting the importance of this opportunity for the personal and professional development of the scholarship recipients. Afterwards, advisors Cristina and Emily explained the logistical and administrative aspects of the trip and answered questions from the young people and their families.

During the event, a video was shown with a message from the rector of UNEATLANTICO, Dr. Rubén Calderón, who offered words of welcome and motivation to the new students.

A total of eleven young scholarship recipients have been selected for this international experience: Adriana Sofía Martell Montufar, Luis Fernando Minas Arreaga, Andrés Barony Vásquez García, José Andrés Gradiz Berganza, José Sebastián Ruiz Bustamante, Carlos Gabriel Morales García, Bryan Alexander Chaj Lopez, Luis Pedro Solares Serrano, Gabriel Fernández Brol, Valentina María Paz Flores, and María Ximena Soto Poujol. They will pursue degree programs in psychology, advertising and public relations, audiovisual communication, computer engineering, business administration and management, and food science and technology.

At the close of the ceremony, Luis Prado shared his professional and academic experience, offered recommendations for adapting to life in Spain, and welcomed the new students. The event also included a testimony from Gilberto Minas Arreaga, brother of Luis Fernando Minas Arreaga, who recounted his university experience in Santander, the challenges he has faced, and the opportunities he has encountered during his studies.

UNEATLANTICO, in collaboration with FUNIBER, reaffirms its commitment to educational excellence and is proud to contribute to the academic and professional development of these young Guatemalans as they embark on a new stage in their education. This farewell dinner represents the beginning of a transformative educational journey that will shape the future of these students and provide them with unique opportunities for growth and learning in a first-class academic environment.
