UNEATLANTICO opens its doors to students from Cantabria with a new edition of the workshops “Learn Doing”

The Universidad Europea del Atlántico (European University of the Atlantic, UNEATLANTICO) will carry out the “Learn Doing” workshops, a formative day designed to offer an educational experience close to the university environment. On this occasion, the institution will welcome students of 4th grade from ESO, Baccalaureate and Higher Education Cycles from all over Cantabria, who will have the opportunity to actively participate in practical workshops related to their areas of interest

The main objective of the event is the development of a series of workshops and activities so that young people have the opportunity to have a first approach to the academic offer of UNEATLANTICO and know the degrees they will be able to study in the future.

First, within the block dedicated to communication that encompasses the degrees of Audiovisual Communication (CA), Journalism (PER) and Advertising and Public Relations (PRP), the workshop “Radio & TV Express” will be developed. In this context, attendees will work at the university’s radio studio and television set to learn how to voice over and use the teleprompter on a live recording. Ideal to live the real experience of communicating live and maintaining attention with highly participative dynamics.

In addition, and simultaneously, workshops related to degrees in the area of food such as Human Nutrition and Dietetics (NHD), Food Science and Technology (CTA) and Gastronomy will focus on health and biotechnology. Under this premise, in the workshop entitled “Understanding the body and food: health, sugar and DNA”, students will carry out activities of microbiology, DNA observation and analysis of sugar in energy drinks, connecting theory with current food practice.

In addition, workshops focused on engineering degrees such as Computer Engineering (II), Industrial Organization Engineering (IOI) and Agricultural and Food Industries Engineering (IIAA) will provide cutting-edge technological experiences through the “Engineer for a day” workshops. The exciting world of bridges» and «Breaking the Illusion: Hacking an AI», students will be able to manage infrastructure construction and test the limits of modern language models to develop their critical thinking.

Also from the area of Education with the degree of Primary Education (EP) will be held the workshop “Discovering the teacher inside me… Mathematics can be fun » in which the classroom will be transformed into a guided discovery laboratory where, through the use of manipulative material, students will discover a more interesting face of mathematics, fun and functional as they often see in textbooks.

Finally, in the Language Area with a degree in Translation and Language Teaching (TEL), you will complete your experience with the workshop “Languages in Action: Interpret, Translate and Teach”. Through this proposal, students will experience the adrenaline of simultaneous interpretation within a professional booth, learn the techniques for subtitling trailers from platforms like Netflix and use Canva AI tools to create stories through storytelling, reflecting on the accuracy of language in the age of artificial intelligence.

It should be recalled that the activities are organized on 18 and 25 March. Educational institutions interested in participating must coordinate their groups and communicate with the Admission Negotiator before the deadline for registration, set for March 5, 2026, through admision@uneatlantico.es.
