UNEATLANTICO offers a talk on access to public teaching for master’s and undergraduate students

The Universidad Europea del Atlántico (European University of the Atlantic, UNEATLANTICO) organized an informative talk aimed at students of the Master’s Degree in Teacher Training for Compulsory Secondary Education and Baccalaureate, Vocational Training, and Language Teaching, as well as the Bachelor’s Degree in Primary Education (EP), with the aim of offering a current and guiding vision on access to teaching in the public sector.

Dr. Iván González Gutiérrez, university professor and specialist in educational policy and teacher training, gave the talk in the UNEATLANTICO auditorium and shared with the students a comprehensive and up-to-date overview of the teacher selection process in the public sector.

During the session, he explained the competitive examination process, the main route into primary, secondary, and vocational education, and detailed the steps to participate, the different ways to become a teacher, and how the competitive examination system works.

Key issues were also addressed, such as the regulation of temporary lists, the criteria for assessing the merits of applicants, and the current situation of calls for applications in Cantabria. The talk thus offered a clear overview of the processes involved in accessing and developing a teaching career.

The talk concluded with a question and answer session in which students were able to express their doubts and concerns to Dr. Iván González Gutiérrez, who responded clearly, providing enriching explanations that facilitated understanding of the topic.

With these talks, UNEATLANTICO seeks to provide a space for guidance and dialogue on the opportunities and challenges of teaching, thus contributing to the professional and vocational development of future teachers.
