The European University of the Atlantic (UNEATLANTICO) maintains one more year its Christmas tradition developed on campus since the first year of life of the institution: the San Silvestre Solidarity race, which this year celebrates its ninth edition. The race will be held on Wednesday, December 18, starting at 3:30 pm. Participants, who can register by filling out this form, will also enjoy music, raffles, a solidarity chocolate, various sports activities and many surprises such as two pairs of Puma T-shirts (boy and girl), and artio isotonic drinks.
Once again this year, UNEATLANTICO has teamed up with the Spanish Red Cross to promote this solidarity race, whose main purpose is to provide aid. That is why it has established a symbolic registration fee of 3 €, and the proceeds will be donated entirely for the purchase of food and other resources that will be delivered to the neediest families. This donation will be deposited at the Physical Activity and Sports Service (SAFD), which is located on floor 0 of the campus.
Whether running, walking or cheering, the San Silvestre Solidaria will be open to all members of the University Community, i.e. students, professors, administrative and service staff, seeking the greatest possible collaboration and the promotion of physical activity, although it is also open to anyone who wishes to participate. Competitors will be divided into two categories, male and female, and there will be a prize reserved for the winners.
It should be noted that the first place winner will receive Adidas Questra 3 running shoes and 50€ in a code to use in Guppy; the second place winner will get 30€ in Guppy; and the third place winner will be awarded with 20€ (Guppy code). Also, once again this year, participants are invited to participate in costume, and prizes will be awarded to those who participate in the best costume. Also, gifts will be provided to the best costumes, the best individual costume will receive 50€ in Guppy, and the best group costume will receive 150€ in Guppy to be divided between at least 3 people. The prize for the best costumes will be decided by a poll on the official instagram of UNEATLANTICO.
The goal of the race is two laps of 400 meters, to be completed in a circular route that will run entirely through the Science and Technology Park of Cantabria (PCTCAN). All this without forgetting the festive and supportive nature of the event.
Regarding the organization, the San Silvestre will not be limited only to the race, which will start at 16:00, since from 13:00h at noon the University will launch other initiatives such as the delivery of bibs in the entrance hall. Also, at 15:40h there will be a directed warm-up on track 1 of the sports center with music to give even more atmosphere to the day. From 16:30h will take place the awards ceremony and raffles.
