The participants of the European project Erasmus + DigitalTA (2022-25), under the leadership of the European University of the Atlantic (UNEATLANTICO) with the participation of the Ibero-American University Foundation (FUNIBER), meet in the city of Olomouc (Czech Republic), to coordinate the actions of the last year of project activity.
The partners of the Univerzita Palackého v Olomouci (UP) of the Czech Republic hosted the other participants. During the meeting, the progress of the project was discussed and the future plans of all participating institutions were defined, establishing a clear roadmap for the project milestones and objectives. Likewise, the progress of the DigitalTA platform, developed by the technological leader FUNIBER, was presented.
The results of the project’s research on training needs of young European teachers allowed establishing thematic priorities for the establishment of digital resources to support young teachers in active or apprenticeship, at a time of transition to teaching apprenticeship.
Digital technologies, classroom management, communication and relationship building, diversity and inclusion, collaboration and professional development, school culture, curriculum, planning and development were the starting point for the construction of the first two modules of the platform. “My Experience” is designed for practicing teachers to share their challenges and issues they face in the classroom. The second module, “Learning Community,” encourages social interaction and collaboration between teachers at different educational levels.
The platform emerges as a space where teachers can share their challenges, reflections, resources and best practices with each other. Work is currently underway to develop modules for mentoring and finding resources.
The partners also highlighted the importance of disseminating research results at the local level, seeking to ensure that the knowledge gained is shared widely in the educational community.
The participants also learned about the functioning of another similar initiative developed by UP, the DigiDoupě project, which aims to increase the digital literacy of future educators, through teaching, own projects, innovations or research, among others.
The meeting was also attended by: Artesis Plantijn University of Applied Sciences (AP) from Belgium; Uniwersytet Jana Kochanowskiego w Kielcach and Swiętokrzyskie Centrum Doskonalenia Nauczycieli (SCDN) from Poland, in addition to the Teacher Training Center of Segovia, the Ibero-American University Foundation (FUNIBER) and the European University of the Atlantic (UNEATLANTICO) from Spain.
