The Universidad Europea del Atlántico (European University of the Atlantic, UNEATLANTICO) has joined the DIVERSE alliance (Digital and Innovative Venture Science Education for Resilient and Sustainable Entrepreneurship), a strategic partnership that brings together academic institutions across Europe with the purpose of transforming education by integrating research methods and innovative teaching techniques, as well as promoting resilient and sustainable entrepreneurship.
Dr. Silvia Aparicio, Vice Rector for Academic Planning and Teaching Staff, and Juan Luis Vidal, Director of the International Relations Office of UNEATLANTICO, led the delegation that represented the university on its trip to Hasselt (Belgium), during which its membership in DIVERSE was formalized.
The DIVERSE alliance involves eight leading universities from various European countries, including Croatia (Algebra), Ireland (Griffith College), Lithuania (SMK), Finland (Satakunta University of Applied Sciences – SAMK), Germany (Rosenheim Technical University of Applied Sciences and Technische Hochschule Nürnberg Georg Simon Ohm), and Belgium (Hogeschool PXL), as well as Spain (Universidad Europea del Atlántico).
The common goal of these institutions is to foster friendly and mutually beneficial cooperation in the areas of internationalization, education, research, and outreach activities between the parties involved. Planned activities include faculty and student exchanges, collaboration in teaching and learning activities, joint curriculum, and program development, as well as jointly seeking funding for external projects.
Griffith College
One of UNEATLANTICO’s partners in this alliance is Griffith College Dublin. Thanks to a dual degree agreement, students of the Business Administration and Management degree at UNEATLANTICO can obtain both the UNEATLANTICO degree and the Bachelor (Honors) in Business Studies awarded by this institution. It is a degree that is accredited by the Irish Quality Agency QQI (Quality and Qualifications Ireland).
In this way, UNEATLANTICO gives a new impulse to the internationalization and promotion of innovative and entrepreneurial education, giving a prominent role to the Erasmus+ mobility program. This will enhance the exchange of students and professors, as well as the creation of joint academic programs with DIVERSE members.
