UNEATLANTICO is launching a Master’s degree in BIM Consultancy to train specialists in the digital modelling of construction projects

The Universidad Europea del Atlántico (European University of the Atlantic, UNEATLANTICO), in partnership with the Ibero-American University Foundation (FUNIBER), is offering a Master’s Degree in Consulting for Building Information Modelling (BIM), an online postgraduate programme designed to train professionals to apply digital modelling methodologies to architectural, engineering and infrastructure projects.

The programme responds to the growing adoption of BIM (Building Information Modelling) methodology in the construction sector, a technology that enables technical information to be integrated into digital models in order to optimise design, improve coordination between disciplines and facilitate project lifecycle management.

BIM methodology and its impact on the construction industry

The digital transformation of the architecture, engineering and construction sector has driven the adoption of collaborative methodologies based on information modelling. In this context, BIM has established itself as one of the leading international standards for the development and management of construction projects.

The implementation of this methodology enables improved planning, reduces design errors, optimises resources and facilitates communication between the various stakeholders involved in a project, from the design phase through to construction and maintenance.

A programme specialising in BIM consultancy and modelling

The master’s degree programme offered by FUNIBER provides comprehensive training that combines the fundamentals of BIM management with instruction in the tools used in the industry for the digital modelling of projects.

Professional specialisation pathways

The programme offers two optional specialisation pathways, allowing students to tailor their studies to different areas of the construction sector:

  • Specialism in Architecture, focusing on the application of BIM in building projects.
  • Specialism in Civil Engineering, focusing on infrastructure and civil engineering projects.

Throughout the programme, students develop the skills needed to work in BIM teams and carry out collaborative projects using professional tools and standards that are widely used in the industry.

Training geared towards professional practice

The master’s degree comprises 60 credits and can be completed in approximately 12 to 24 months, depending on the student’s pace of study. The course includes the development of a final project, in which students apply the knowledge acquired during the programme in a practical setting.

The programme also offers the option of undertaking optional work placements, allowing students to participate in real-world projects and consolidate their experience in professional environments related to BIM modelling.

Who is this master’s degree aimed at?

The Master’s in BIM Consultancy is aimed at professionals working in the construction sector, particularly architects, engineers, draughtsmen and other specialists interested in incorporating BIM methodology into their professional practice.

The programme does not require prior experience in BIM modelling, enabling participants to acquire the necessary skills from scratch to become involved in projects that use this methodology.
