UNEATLANTICO implements the Doctorate in Design and Technology Applied to Business in collaboration with UDIT

The Universidad Europea del Atlántico (European University of the Atlantic, UNEATLANTICO) and the University of Design, Innovation and Technology (UDIT) have held a meeting in Madrid to advance the implementation of the new joint Doctoral Programme in Design and Technology Applied to Business, which will be inaugurated for the academic year 2025-2026.

Representing UNEATLANTICO at the meeting were Dr Miguel Lopez Coronado, director of the Doctoral School; Dr Elizabeth Caro, academic coordinator of the programme; and Dr Julién Brito, head of Degrees at the university’s Quality and Studies Office.

This new doctoral programme aims to train researchers capable of developing professionally in the field of applied research, with a focus on business-oriented design and technology. The proposal emphasises collaboration between university and industry, and seeks to generate knowledge transfer and tools for the business environment.

The doctorate is structured around a single line of research, called Design and Technology Projects, which covers various emerging areas such as sustainable design, artificial intelligence and digital innovation. Thanks to its interdisciplinary nature and the connection with different actors in the productive and academic sectors, the programme offers opportunities to establish collaborative networks, promote the employability of graduates and boost postdoctoral innovation projects.
