The Innovation and Development Foundation (FIDBAN) has presented, in its recent 21st Investor Round, four innovative proposals with national projection that want to take off from Cantabria and with regional partners. The companies Carlandia, Aptadel, Juntos 55 and Triipfy participated in this twenty-first round before the investors’ club which has the support of the European University of the Atlantic (UNEATLANTICO), the Ibero-American University Foundation (FUNIBER), SODERCAN as main sponsor, CITICAN, the city councils of Santander and Torrelavega and CEOE-CEPYME.
Prior to the presentation of both companies, Diego Lainz, director of FIDBAN, gave way to the presentation of Las Hermanisimas as one of the more than thirty success stories of projects that have become companies after going through FIDBAN’s investor rounds. Two of the founders of Las Hermanisimas, Ana Ingelmo and Beatriz Sainz, talked about how they managed to get their project off the ground and how it has grown to become one of the leading producers in Cantabria and in the North of the country. They managed to cover all aspects related to the audiovisual world, from location scouting and permit management to the provision of specialised technicians, casting, fitting, photo shoots, filming, productions and events.
For its part, Carlandia, a start-up from Santander, presented its proposal, which consists of brokering the sale of second-hand vehicles from official dealers and car dealers on its digital portal. Juan Carlos Sanz Briz, head of Carlandia, stressed that the project also makes it easier for buyers to obtain loans to speed up the sale, becoming the first portal of vehicles for sale in which buyers can offer online what they are willing to pay for the car they are interested in.
During the presentation they shared a video recorded by Gisela Lorente, CEO of Aptadel Therapeutics, a biotech company, which develops an innovative RNA-based platform with a dual mechanism of action: a potent anti-metastatic effect and the ability to transport various therapeutic agents intracellularly. This platform is highly adaptable to a wide range of oncological indications. Aptadel is currently concentrating its efforts on the treatment of childhood cancer, specifically Ewing’s Sarcoma.
On the other hand, and as a third project, Antonio Lamadrid CEO and partner presents Triipfy, an innovative platform designed to connect specialised travel agencies in order to get more customers and maximise sales of exclusive trips. Triipfy’s technological solution allows agencies to publish their unique trips, facilitating collaboration between agents from different locations to complete travel groups or create new ones, according to their areas of expertise. This approach represents a unique opportunity for travel agents. In a future phase, the platform plans to expand its offering to make these exclusive trips available directly to the end customer.
Finally, the last project presented during the twenty-first round of FIDBAN was Juntos 55, by Antonio Lamadrid, CFO and partner of the company. Juntos55 is the first social network designed exclusively for Spanish speakers over the age of 55. This platform integrates its users through a shared environment that takes into account their motivations and personal contact needs. It offers specific content and personalised recommendations of products and services ad-hoc for this target group, fostering a sense of belonging and facilitating their use through accessible technology and common interests.
The FIDBAN Board of Trustees also includes SODERCAN as main sponsor, the European University of the Atlantic, the Ibero-American University Foundation FUNIBER, CITICAN, the city councils of Santander and Torrelavega and CEOE-CEPYME.
