The Universidad europea del Atlántico (European Atlantic University, UNEATLANTICO) has opened registration for the 10th edition of the San Silvestre Solidaria, one of the most emblematic activities of the university. The race will be held on Wednesday 17 December and is organized by the Physical Activity and Sports Service (SAFD). La San Silvestre maintains its spirit of sport, festivity and solidarity, bringing together students, teachers, administrative staff and external participants year after year.
For its tenth edition, UNEATLANTICO offers two forms of participation. On the one hand, the registration that includes the commemorative t-shirt of the X edition has a cost of 10 euros; those interested in obtaining the t-shirt must formalize their registration before Monday 1 December by contacting the SAFD. On the other hand, the solidarity registration, whose symbolic price is 3 euros, will be open until the day of the race. As usual, the solidarity collection will be allocated entirely to the Spanish Red Cross, in order to support families with economic difficulties through the purchase of food and other basic necessities.
This year, prizes will be awarded to the top three in each competitive category. In addition, the best individual costume and the best group costume will be recognized, thus encouraging creativity and the festive atmosphere characteristic of this event.
The day will begin at 1:00 pm with the collection of berths in the entrance hall of the campus. The first 100 entries will receive a Welcome Pack. At 15:40 a directed warm-up with music will be held on Track 1, and the race will start at 16:00. From 16:20 hours, participants will enjoy a solidarity chocolate, music and a raffle. The delivery of trophies and prizes will take place at 16:30.
The course is maintained in four turns of 800 meters, completing a total of approximately 3.2 kilometers within the Science and Technology Park of Cantabria (PCTCAN). The race is open to the entire university community and the general public, with the possibility of participating in running, walking or cheering. As every year, registrants are encouraged to participate in costume, which brings creativity and fun to the day.
UNEATLANTICO is relaunching the “Tu Impulso” project, an initiative aimed at people with mobility difficulties. Thanks to a group of volunteers from the university, called impulsers, those who require support will be able to complete the tour accompanied.
