José Luis Nieto, the pianist, will celebrate a new concert of his tour “Pasión de Falla” (De Falla’s Passion) this Thursday, November 9, at 7:00 p.m. in the auditorium of the Universidad Europea del Atlántico (European University of the Atlantic, UNEATLANTICO).
Nieto, a pianist with a long international career, will offer the audience a recital of “Pasión de Falla,” which includes several musical pieces by the Spanish composer Manuel de Falla: “El sombrero de tres picos” (The three-cornered hat), “El amor brujo” (Love, the sorcerer), and “Fantasía bética” (Andalusian Fantasy) to commemorate the ten years of activity of the university.
José Luis Nieto studied at the Real Conservatorio Superior de Música de Madrid (Royal Conservatory of Music in Madrid) and at the Tchaikovsky Conservatory in Moscow, Russia. His activity has also expanded to the Middle East, winning the best reviews in the main halls of Egypt, at the Gomhoreya, Cairo Opera House, and the Great Hall of Theatre Sayed Darwish in Alexandria.
Parallel to his musical career, Nieto is committed to training in music education on topics that are not usually included in the academic curricula of institutions, through the publication of his essays and the delivery of conferences with the support of the Obra Cultural de FUNIBER y UNEATLANTICO (Cultural Work of FUNIBER and UNEATLANTICO). To attend the concert, it is necessary to confirm attendance to the email protocolo@uneatlantico.es or through the following form.
This university, “the university of alternatives,” which began its activity in the 2014-2015 academic year, providing eight degrees, once again demonstrates its dedication to academic excellence and its contribution to educational development. These advances will be achieved in the 2023-2024 academic year with an increase of 4% over the previous year with respect to access to bachelor and master’s degree courses, consolidating its recognition in Cantabrian society as a university institution of reference.
The university has become a fully integrated institution in the Cantabrian, Spanish, and international university system. The international university alliances, with the Iberoamerican University Foundation (FUNIBER), to which it owes its existence, generate a network of connections that will exponentially boost growth in teaching, research, and transfer in the future.
The trust of its students and the efforts of its staff are the basis of the institution’s success, and on which it is ensuring sustained growth to achieve academic and research excellence: its fundamental objective.
