The Universidad Europea del Atlántico (European University of the Atlantic, UNEATLANTICO) hosted from 5 to 9 May the second edition of the International Staff Week 2025, organised by the International Relations Office (ORI). This event brought together academic representatives and teaching staff from nine European countries, including Belgium, France, Germany, Lithuania, the Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania and Turkey.
During this week, participants not only explored new educational strategies, but also had the opportunity to interact with international and local students in activities such as ‘Speed Dating’ organised by SAPLI, with the aim of exchanging ideas and views in different languages. In addition, the event offered cultural tours of the city of Santander, including visits to the Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art.
Moreover, participants attended a welcome session which included an introductory presentation on UNEATLANTICO’s projects. In addition, conferences were held, related to the DIGITAL TA project, where the results of projects developed in collaboration with European universities were presented.
The agenda also included an intensive Spanish course for international visitors, round tables on strategies to improve internationalisation and networking sessions to foster new alliances. In addition, participants had the opportunity to present their institutions and share experiences in supporting international students.
In addition, on 7 May, guests joined the University Day celebration, an event dedicated to fostering integration and the cultural environment at UNEATLANTICO. CEU Surf 2025 was also organised in Somo where teachers had the opportunity to attend. Among the activities was the charity event ‘Meals of the World’, in which funds were raised for a local NGO through the sale of typical dishes from different countries.
In addition to the cultural activities, different classes were given by guest lecturers, who shared their expertise on topics such as the evolution of accounting, business strategies and audiovisual production techniques. These sessions became a unique opportunity for students to connect with educational approaches from other European contexts and broaden their academic horizons, interactive research workshops were also held and FUNIBER cultural initiatives were presented.
The week culminated with a closing session, where all participants were thanked for their contribution, followed by the presentation of certificates of participation. Finally, the International Week 2025 has been a reflection of UNEATLANTICO’s commitment to internationalisation and the integral formation of its students by providing a multicultural and educational approach.
