UNEATLANTICO celebrates International Week 2025 by offering classes with an international focus and cultural activities on campus

The Universidad Europea del Atlántico (European University of the Atlantic, UNEATLANTICO) hosted the second edition of International Staff Week 2025 from May 5 to 9, organized by the Office of International Relations (ORI). This event brought together academic representatives and teaching staff from nine European countries, including Germany, Belgium, France, Lithuania, the Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, and Turkey.

During this week, participants not only explored new educational strategies, but also had the opportunity to interact with international and local students in activities such as “Speed Dating” organized by SAPLI, with the aim of exchanging ideas and points of view in different languages. In addition, the event offered cultural tours of the city of Santander, including visits to the Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art.

Participants also attended a welcome session that included an introductory presentation on UNEATLANTICO’s projects. In addition, conferences related to the DIGITAL TA project were held, where the results of projects developed in collaboration with European universities were presented.

The agenda also included an intensive Spanish course for international visitors, round tables on strategies to improve internationalization, and networking sessions to foster new partnerships. In addition, participants had the opportunity to present their institutions and share experiences on supporting international students.

On May 7, guests joined the celebration of University Day, an event dedicated to promoting integration and cultural atmosphere at UNEATLANTICO. CEU Surf 2025 was also organized in Somo, which faculty members had the opportunity to attend. Among the activities, the charity event “Meals of the World” stood out, in which funds were raised for a local NGO through the sale of typical dishes from different countries.

In addition to the cultural activities, various classes were given by guest lecturers, who shared their experience on topics such as the evolution of accounting, business strategies, and audiovisual production techniques. These sessions provided a unique opportunity for students to connect with educational approaches from other European contexts and broaden their academic horizons. Interactive research workshops were also held and cultural initiatives from FUNIBER were presented.

It should also be noted that several of the teachers who attended shared their knowledge with the UNEATLANTICO community, offering classes on various topics and for students of various degrees at the university.
