The Rector of the European University of the Atlantic (UNEATLANTICO), Rubén Calderón, receives the International Relations Distinction of the 1st Political Science and Sociology Awards of Cantabria granted by the Professional Association of Political Science and Sociology of Cantabria on the first anniversary of the institution.
In the celebration of the first anniversary of the Professional Association of Political Science and Sociology, this entity has recognised individuals and entities that make valuable contributions in the field of political science in the Community of Cantabria.
During the event, the university received the International Relations Distinction for the implementation of the Degree in International Relations, presenting the study plan for its verification before the ANECA. This new addition to the study plans of UNEATLANTICO, presents a new training opportunity in Cantabria for young people who want to opt for this training, with the support of the Professional Association.
It should be noted that UNEATLANTICO and the Professional Association of Political Science and Sociology of Cantabria have signed a collaboration agreement which highlights the possibility for UNEATLANTICO students to carry out their professional internships in this Professional Association.
‘The European University of the Atlantic is present in more than forty countries in America, Africa and Europe. We have more than 30% of international students. However, we had pending, being so international, to implement the degree in International Relations that is so demanded by future students’ stressed Calderón after receiving the recognition on behalf of the university.
During the event, the Centro de Iniciativas Empresariales (CIE) also received an award for Employment Promotion from Gema Igual, Mayoress of Santander; for Employability Support from María Eugenia Cuenca-Romero Navarro, Director of Corporate and Institutional Relations, Corporate Responsibility and Sustainability of the PITMA Group; forSocial Research to the sociologist and researcher, Maria Montesino; to the Marqués de Valdecilla Foundation for being the Entity that contributes to the work of the Professional Association; and finally the Honorary Member was awarded to Nicolás López Ochoa, graduate in political science and sociology from the UPV.
This recognition places UNEATLANTICO as a reference institution in Cantabria, being the first university in the Autonomous Community to present the curriculum of the degree in International Relations.
