The rector of the European University of the Atlantic (UNEATLANTICO), Rubén Calderón; the vice-rector of Academic Organisation and teaching staff, Silvia Aparicio; and Diego Lainz, professor of the degree in Business Administration and Management (ADE) and director of the Innovation and Development Foundation (FIDBAN) have attended the awards ceremony of the Association of Women Entrepreneurs of Cantabria.
The co-owner of the sobaos and cheese production company Casa El Macho de Selaye, María Rosa Fernández, received this Tuesday the ‘Businesswoman 2024 Award’ from the Association of Businesswomen of Cantabria (ADMEC), awarded unanimously.
This award recognises the work of the production manager of this famous Pasiego bakery and her capacity for work, her leadership and team management, as well as her proactivity, adaptability and her overcoming of obstacles to maintain the outstanding productivity and turnover of the family business, according to the regional government.
In addition to the Businesswoman of the Year award, this year the Association of Businesswomen of Cantabria has awarded distinctions to four women and two organisations in recognition of their work as businesswomen, managers, executives and entrepreneurs, as well as their contribution to the economic and social development of the region. The award winners are: María Luisa San Emeterio, from Grupo Hoteles de Cantabria, for her exemplary professional career; Elena Carretón, Pilates centre entrepreneur, as a benchmark in entrepreneurship; Eva Suárez, provincial director of the Social Security, for her career in senior management in the Public Administration; Eugenia Ontón, factory manager at Nestlé, as a senior executive in the private sector; the Proa Comunicación agency in Madrid, as a success story outside Cantabria, and the Real Racing Club Foundation, for its dedication and its project for inclusion and the future.
