The European University of the Atlantic (UNEATLANTICO), through its Doctorate Programme in Physical Activity and Sport: Risks and Benefits, has started a scientific collaboration with the Real Racing Club of Santander.
The collaboration will promote high-quality research, using innovative technologies and infrared thermography for monitoring and individualised recovery.
This scientific study focuses on evaluating players during the season, with the aim of analysing fatigue, sports performance and injury risk factors. This research will benefit the players of the Juvenil B and the players of the Real Racing Club women’s first team.
Dr Álvaro Velarde Sotres, coordinator of the Doctoral Programme in Physical Activity and Sport: Risks and Benefits, adds that ‘it is hoped that this scientific research with new technologies can contribute new knowledge and scientific advances’.
Within the framework of the Doctoral School of the European University of the Atlantic, this research adds to the relevant studies developed by its students. It should therefore be noted that this study forms part of a doctoral thesis.
Finally, it is important to point out that this is not the first time that both institutions have collaborated, as UNEATLANTICO and Real Racing Club de Santander maintain a close relationship in various areas. On this occasion, they seek to strengthen their alliance through new research projects in the field of sports, with the aim of promoting the development and generation of knowledge in this field.
