The Universidad Europea del Atlántico (European University of the Atlantic, UNEATLANTICO) and the Ibero-American University Foundation (FUNIBER) in Panama have signed an agreement with the Technological University OTEIMA to promote academic and student mobility to Santander, Spain.
The event took place at the OTEIMA rector’s office. Representing FUNIBER were Dr. Gregorio Urriola Candanedo, director of the FUNIBER headquarters in the country, and Lc. Representing UNEATLANTICO was Dr. Roberto Ruiz, vice-rector for International Relations at the university. OTEIMA was represented by its rector, Dr. Francisco Ugel, and its vice-rector for Research, Mgter. Manuel Vega De Gracia.
During the meeting, Dr. Ruiz highlighted the recent efforts in the internationalization of the university and its profile of global excellence, made up of a large percentage of students from Europe, Latin America, Africa, and China. For his part, Dr. Urriola invited Rector Ugel to visit UNEATLANTICO and its industrial and business environment in Cantabria, Spain, with the aim of enriching academic exchanges and entrepreneurial outreach between Chiriquí and Cantabria.
Ms. Martínez offered to collaborate with OTEIMA authorities to expedite the necessary procedures and ensure that student and professional visits to UNEATLANTICO take place in a timely manner.
After signing the academic mobility agreement, the FUNIBER and UNEATLANTICO delegation visited OTEIMA’s FABLAB, an innovative experience in the Central American region that seeks to support producers in Chiriquí. This alliance with FUNIBER and its technology centers will further enhance this initiative.
