The Iberoamerican University Foundation (FUNIBER) is organizing the 2nd Iberoamerican and Iberophony Forum, to be held on February 5 and 6, with the collaboration of the Iberoamerican Communication Association (Asociación Iberoamericana de la Comunicación, ASICOM), the University of Oviedo, and the Gustavo Bueno Foundation.
The primary goal of this Forum is to foster integration, fortify bonds, and emphasize the immense potential of Ibero-America and other Spanish and Portuguese-speaking countries worldwide in upholding shared values and principles.
In its previous edition, held at the headquarters of the Royal Matritense Economic Society of Friends of the Country (Real Sociedad Económica Matritense de Amigos del País, RSEMAP), the forum was the stage for important figures promoting the Iberophony space, among which stand out the president of FUNIBER, Dr. Santos Gracia Villar; the professor of UNEATLANTICO and director of Institutional Relations as well as of the FUNIBER Chair of Iberoamerican Studies and Iberophony, Dr. F. Álvaro Durántez Prados; participating international figures such as the Ambassador of Honduras, Marlon Brevé Reyes; Minister-Counselor of the Embassy of Angola, Antonio Cistovão; Liz Coronel, Chargé d’Affaires of the Embassy of Paraguay; and Victor Velho, First Secretary of the Embassy of Mozambique.
In this edition, UNEATLANTICO professor Durántez Prados will open the forum with his lecture entitled “The articulation of the Iberophony Multinational Space. State of Situation”, at Gustavo Bueno Square, on Monday, February 5.
On Tuesday, February 6, the forum will continue at the Assembly Hall of the University of Oviedo, with national and international participants, having the inauguration with the participation of Ignacio Villaverde, rector of the Universidad de Oviedo; Santiago Velo de Antelo, executive president of the Academy of Diplomacy; Laura Galguera, vice president of theIbero-American Association of Communication (ASICOM). The forum will also include a conference given by the ambassador of the League of Arab States to the Kingdom of Spain, Malek Twal, and a round table discussion led by the ambassador of Angola, Alfredo Dombe.
This year’s 2nd Iberoamerican and Iberophony Forum will be a point of multinational convergence that will include Ibero-America, Africa, and the League of Arab States, and it will be held in person in the city of Oviedo, Spain.
