The Universidad Europea del Atlántico (European Atlantic University, UNEATLANTICO) and the Fundación Universitaria Iberoamericana (Iberoamerican University Foundation, FUNIBER) have signed a collaboration agreement with the Peninsula State University of Santa Elena (UPSE) in Ecuador. The objective is to establish a scholarship programme for UPSE teachers and their families in second and third degree of consanguinity, among other beneficiaries determined by the university.
The formal signing ceremony took place at UPSE facilities, with the presence of Ph.D. Nestor Acosta Lozano, rector of the university; Mgtr. Clemente Enrique Espinel Maila, executive director of FUNIBER in Ecuador; and Lic. Néstor Petraccaro Guerrero, representative of UNEATLANTICO in Ecuador. With this initiative, the three institutions strengthen institutional links aimed at promoting academic training and international mobility of their community.
The scholarships, offered through FUNIBER’s grant program, will allow beneficiaries to access undergraduate and graduate studies at the Universidad Internacional Iberoamericana de México (UNINI Mexico) and at UNEATLANTICO in Spain. In particular, the agreement includes partial scholarships for face-to-face degree and specialization programs in Spain, through UNEATLANTICO, favouring those who wish to pursue high quality studies under the International University Network of FUNIBER. In this way, beneficiaries will be able to choose the area of training which best suits their interests and professional outlook.
This agreement will not only strengthen the individual training of UPSE teachers and their families, but also contribute to institutional academic development by promoting the training of highly qualified professionals. In addition, it reflects the commitment of FUNIBER and UNEATLANTICO to the internationalization of education and the reduction of geographical and economic barriers to access to quality higher education, This represents a significant step in the consolidation of international educational networks.
