The European University of the Atlantic (UNEATLANTICO) celebrates the III Short Film Festival of the University this May 23 at 18:30. It should be noted that anyone who has studied at UNEATLANTICO can participate.
Montero de Palacio, Spanish director, screenwriter and producer, will be the guest of honor at this III Short Film Festival held at the institution. Montero is responsible for several productions, for two of which he has been awarded the prestigious Goya Award for best producer and director. He has also won other important awards such as the José María Forqué Award, the Golden Eagle Award, the Cantabria Rural Tourism Award and the French Academy Award. It is for this reason that, in recognition of his extensive professional career in the world of film, he will receive the Federico Fernández Special Award.
The auditorium of UNEATLANTICO will host on Wednesday 22 at 18:30 hours the screening of all nominated short films, while on Thursday 23 a gala will be held starting at 18:30 hours and during which the award-winning short films will be unveiled.
Also, prior to the gala on the 23rd, students will be given the opportunity to attend the Masterclass entitled: “A life of cinema; Magic and reality” by the award-winning Rodolfo Montero on May 23rd at 12:15 pm in the University’s Assembly Hall.
On the other hand, the awards are distributed in eleven categories including: best short film, best direction, best script, best photography, best editing, best sound, best actress, best actor, best production, best documentary short film and, as mentioned before, the Federico Fernández Special Award.
All in all, the main objective of the III Short Film Festival is to promote the talent and creativity of its students.
