The UNEATLANTICO Theatre Workshop premieres its latest play, «El último trago» (The Last Drink), in the university’s Assembly Hall

On 9 May, the Universidad Europea del Atlántico (European University of the Atlantic, UNEATLANTICO) Theatre Workshop staged a play entitled ‘El último trago’ (The Last Drink) in the university’s auditorium. The play was directed by Lorena Güemes, head of the Theatre Workshop.

The students who made up the cast for this event were: José Cabrera, Daniel Campuzano, Iraya Contreras, Alex Elvira, Naiara Fernández, Daniel Lavín, Sara López, Lia Marzo, Ilse Mercado, Ivana Navas, Alma Pérez, Paula Rasillo, Jordy Rojals, Óscar Río, Eva Sisniega, Hector D. Somonte and Alejandro Viñas. The play was mainly focused on the comedy genre. The plot was set in an exclusive bar where each of the scenes took place. The play consisted of a dozen scenes, each with a different story revolving around the theme.

Tickets were sold in advance two days before the performance on University Day and were also sold at the door on the day of the performance. It should be noted that all proceeds from ticket sales will be donated to Cocina Económica to help with its work through the Office of Cooperation and Social Action (OCAS) of UNEATLANTICO. The students worked on this event in the theatre classroom for several months, accompanied by their director. During the preparation, they strengthened skills such as creativity, innovation, stage management, theatrical skills, voice projection and script writing, among others.

Finally, it is worth mentioning that the Theatre Classroom puts on a play every year. These are carried out in collaboration with Javier Cifiran’s Cantabria Film and TV School. The university’s theatre club is also open to any students who wish to join next year.
