The “SR LON” team is proclaimed two-time champion of the II Futsal League and will represent UNEATLANTICO in the preliminary phase of the Spanish University Championships

On Wednesday, March 20, the final of the II Futsal League of the Universidad Europea del Atlántico (European University of the Atlantic, UNEATLANTICO) was held, which was organized in conjunction with the Cantabrian Football Federation. The Sr Lon team was proclaimed two-time champion and will soon compete against the University of Cantabria to determine who will represent the Autonomous Community in the Spanish University Championship (CEU). 

The University’s sports facilities hosted the second edition of the league. That same Wednesday afternoon, four days of the different final categories of the second edition of UNEATLANTICO’s Futsal League took place. 

CHAMPIONS CUP

SR LON faced CONDUCTORS FC at 3 p.m. After an extremely animated match, full of action and encouragement from the fans, Mr. Lon was proclaimed two-time champion with a score of 4-0. Soon, accompanied by their coach Manuel Lavín, they will represent the university in a match against the University of Cantabria (UC). This match will define which team will have the responsibility of representing Cantabria in the Spanish university championship to be held in Castilla-La Mancha. 

BRONZE CUP 

The final of the bronze cup took place at 12 p.m., an encounter that took place between PIRRIS FC and ROJA DIRECTA. The match was fairly even, clean, and full of adrenaline; however, the results were 1-2, with Roja Directa claiming the victory. 

SILVER CUP

In this next category, teams CAFYD ALL STAR vs. JAL’S MAFIA faced each other at 1 p.m. It ended with a score of 3-7, naming the CAFYD All Star team as champions of the silver cup. 

GOLD CUP

Finally, for this third category, BORDALETA FC competed against MALAQUITO DE MEMPHIS at 2 p.m., and with a score of 5-3, Bordaleta FC was proclaimed champion of the Gold Cup.
