The Physical Activity and Sport Service (SAFD) of the European University of the Atlantic (UNEATLANTICO) presents the prizes for the tournaments held throughout the year. Adrian Rodriguez and Sofia Portabella, coordinators of the SAFD carried out this delivery.
Several tournaments have been held this year. The first was the Indoor Football League, organised in conjunction with the Royal Cantabrian Football Federation, in which Sr.Lon won for the second consecutive year and Conductores took second place. This was followed by the III Table Tennis Tournament, in which Leire Oscariz won first place in the women’s category and Marcos García in the men’s category. Basketball also took place in the competitions with the 5th 3×3 mixed tournament, in which Aleson won.
Likewise, this year the 1st Badminton Tournament was also held, both in the mixed and doubles categories. In the case of the mixed category, Monica Cerdeñosa and Alejandro Juárez came first, and Alejandro himself, together with Daniel Fernández, won first prize in the men’s category. In addition, the VI Mixed Volleyball Tournament was also held with the victory of the Chubyneta, the VII Trimaratón Multisport Tournament, with the Sagardotegi team as winners, the VII Beach Volleyball Tournament, both mixed and male with Mariana Dimas and Luis Dubón as winners in the mixed category and Yago López and Pablo Ruiz in the male category and to close this year’s tournaments, the VI Padel Tournament was also held, with Alain Castillo and Javier Trueba as winners in the male category, Dayana Escudero and Marta Rivas in the female category and Marta Rivas and Javier Trueba in the mixed category.
The prize-giving ceremony for all these tournaments was held in the Assembly Hall, and the representatives of the Sports Service, together with the Director of Communication, gave a few words of thanks to all the students for their participation.
In this line and in order to encourage physical activity and sport at the university, UNEATLANTICO also has sports clubs open to the entire university community who wish to join them.
