The Physical Activity and Sports Service (SAFD) of the European University of the Atlantic (UNEATLANTICO) organized the I Pickleball Tournament with the help of the Cantabrian Pickleball Federation, with a high participation from the university community.
The tournament had 30 participants who were distributed in the categories of women’s and men’s singles, women’s doubles, men’s and mixed.
The winner of the men’s singles division was Fernando Soto, and the winner of the women’s division was Sofia Portabella. Similarly, for the men’s doubles, the winners were Mario Ferreras and Arturo Fernández; finally, in the mixed doubles, Samuel Rodríguez and Inés Trueba were victorious.
On previous occasions, various activities have been carried out to promote sports practice and student coexistence, with table tennis tournaments, 3×3 basketball, indoor soccer, among others, as well as the Discover + Sport days, with introductory lessons in Ultimate Frisbee, Baseball, Rugby and more sports.
In this line and in order to encourage physical activity and sport at the university, the Physical Activity and Sports Service of UNEATLANTICO, has sports clubs open to the entire university community who wish to join them.
Likewise, the University continues to be committed to sports and internal competitions for the enjoyment and integration of the entire UNEATLANTICO community.
