The rector of UNEATLANTICO, Rubén Calderón, visits the Embassy of El Salvador in Spain

The rector of the Universidad Europea del Atlántico (European University of the Atlantic, UNEATLANTICO), Mr Rubén Calderón, visited the Ambassador of the Republic of El Salvador to Spain, Mr Joaquín Alexander Maza Martelli. The meeting was held to extend a cordial invitation to His Excellency Mr Ambassador of the Republic of El Salvador to the Kingdom of Spain, Joaquín Alexander Maza Martelli, to visit our university in Cantabria as part of the ‘business meetings’ that the university has been holding with various embassies with which the university and the Ibero-American University Foundation (FUNIBER) maintain close relations, especially in the context of the Innovation and Development Foundation (FIDBAN).

The European University of the Atlantic has an academic and educational project that is strongly focused on the employability of its students. In addition, it offers a course on projects and another on business creation and entrepreneurship, both in the fourth year, in all its degree programmes. All of this promotes the employability of students in an internationalised context.

The meetings promoted by FIDBAN, whose board of trustees includes UNEATLANTICO, FUNIBER and the Society for the Development of Cantabria (SODERCAN), consist of a reception for the Ambassador and his delegation by the university authorities, a visit to the facilities and the residence, the formalisation of a Framework Agreement and a meeting with the Cantabrian business sector.

In addition, a meeting is promoted with national students from the guest country who share their experiences at the university and their life in Santander.

SODERCAN, in collaboration with the university, organises a meeting between the Embassy and Cantabrian companies to learn about the business opportunities that Cantabrian companies from different sectors can find in that country, as well as opportunities that exist in Cantabria for investment by companies from the guest country.

This is followed by a networking coffee between the Ambassador and businesspeople.

During the Rector’s visit to the Ambassador in Madrid, he expressed his interest in the Embassy of El Salvador being the next embassy to visit the European University of the Atlantic, taking advantage of the close relationship between the Ibero-American University Foundation (FUNIBER) and the European University of the Atlantic with El Salvador.
