The European University of the Atlantic (UNEATLANTICO) and the Royal Cantabrian Football Federation presented yesterday the fourth edition of the UNEATLANTICO University Futsal League, which this year pays tribute to Raúl Ramírez Osorio, former goalkeeper for C.D. Colindres and CAFYD student at the academic institution, by incorporating his name and surname into the name of the competition. The league will be held between October and March and brings together twelve teams and around 150 participants, a new success in terms of participation that once again consolidates a league that has already become a regular fixture in recent seasons.
The presentation ceremony, from which a group photo is attached, was attended by representatives of the twelve registered teams: Costa Norte FS, Armando Buya, Dynamo Santander, Espartanos, Legionarios, LFAM UNEAT, Minguetis FC, Nottingham Esperanzas, Pirris FC, Rayo Vallacaño, Roja directa and Villanos FS. All of them received their kits and the necessary explanations about the championship rules.
This competition, in which only students enrolled in the UNEATLANTICO university community can participate, is held on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays at set times between 10:00 and 16:00. The first part of the league will start on 28 October and end on 18 February, consisting of a single round-robin regular season in which all teams will face all their opponents.
At the end of this first part, the twelve teams will be divided into the gold league (first to fourth), silver league (fifth to eighth) and bronze league (ninth to twelfth). These rounds, now using a knockout system, will decide the respective champions of the gold, silver and bronze phases.
