The rector of the European University of the Atlantic (UNEATLANTICO), Rubén Calderón, attended last week the annual Gala of the Hotel and Catering Association of Cantabria (AEHC), which took place at the Palacio de Exposiciones y Congresos in Santander.
Eduardo Lamadrid, president of the Association opened the gala. Afterwards, the permanent members of the AEHC were in charge of the presentation of diplomas for the business trajectory to the award winners. Likewise, the President of Cantabria, María José Sáenz de Buruaga, spoke at the gala in a video in which she recognised the contribution of hoteliers to the ‘tourism success’ of the autonomous community as a ‘quality reference destination’.
It should be noted that UNEATLANTICO and the Hotel and Catering Business Association of Cantabria have had a collaboration agreement in place for years, which underlines the link and interest of the academic institution in issues related to food and the development of the university degree in Gastronomy (GT).
However, the university offers more food-related degrees, including: Human Nutrition and Dietetics (NHD), Food Science and Technology (CTA) and Agricultural and Food Industries Engineering (IIAA).
