The European University of the Atlantic (UNEATLANTICO) held a workshop on career guidance in collaboration with the Official College of Chemists of Cantabria, Valladolid and Palencia. The workshop was given by José Antonio Bonilla, a psychologist specializing in human resources and personal effectiveness, who addressed a number of issues of interest to all those students who are at the gates of the world of work.
The workshop was held in the university’s assembly hall and was mainly aimed at final year students of all UNEATLANTICO degrees. In addition, third year students also received an invitation to the workshop, as well as university graduates interested in the talk.
The speaker, José Antonio Bonilla, based his presentation on a series of key questions for a successful job search. Among the questions to highlight, with which the students present were able to form a better idea of how to look for a job, were:
What do employers look for when hiring staff?
How to prepare effectively for the job search?
How to write a good CV?
How to face a job interview and what aspects should be considered in the selection interview?
How to control nerves and anxiety during the process?
Afterwards, a question and answer session was held between the students and the speaker, with which the students present were able to clarify any doubts that arose during the workshop. At the end of the workshop, participants were given a diploma.
This workshop is part of the collaboration agreement between both institutions. This agreement aims to support students in their transition from university life to professional life, so that they can make this change successfully and with the necessary tools.
