The Universidad Europea del Atlántico (European University of the Atlantic, UNEATLANTICO) organizes the fifth edition of the Short Film Festival, which has been named as “FEDE Awards” in honor of Federico Fernández, director of cultural work of FUNIBER and UNEATLANTICO, to recognize his outstanding career.
The nominated short films will be screened on the afternoon of Wednesday, May 20 and the festival will be held on Thursday, May 21, both in the Hall of Acts of the university. Students from UNEATLANTICO as well as non-students may participate in the call. Works of any genre, fiction, animation, documentary, experimental will be accepted; the category of Short Film of Fiction, the maximum footage will be 10 minutes long; and the Category of Short Film Documentary, the maximum time is 20 minutes long, without counting the credits in any one. In addition, it will be possible to present those short films that have not been awarded in previous editions of this one.
The awards of the Short Film Festival are distributed in eleven categories:
- Best short film.
- Better direction.
- Improved production.
- Best Revelation.
- Best Actor.
- Best Actress.
- Best script.
- Best photography.
- Best artistic direction.
- Better assembly.
- Better sound.
Each of the three best short films will be awarded €100 in prize money. They will be ranked based on the number of prizes won.
The deadline for registration and receipt of works ends on Thursday, May 7 at 11:59 pm.
