The European University of the Atlantic and the Royal Cantabrian Football Federation present the III University League UNEATLANTICO

The European University of the Atlantic (UNEATLANTICO) presented in its Assembly Hall the III University Indoor Football League, organised in conjunction with the Royal Cantabrian Football Federation (RFCF).

The event featured the words of Josep Alemany, director of the Physical Activity and Sports Service (SAFD) of UNEATLANTICO, stressing that the most important thing is to enjoy sport in the university environment while respecting both the spirit of the sport and the spirit of the organisers.

Also present at the event were the general secretary of the Cantabrian Football Federation, Carlos Toledo, the head of Cantabrian football communication, Eduardo Aguilera González, who spoke about the importance of this type of tournament to promote university sport. For his part, the president of the Cantabrian referees committee, Adolfo Vázquez, stressed the importance of respect between players and referees.

Phases and competition system

This season the number of teams and players registered has increased considerably, going from 17 teams and 180 participants to the current 21 and almost 250 players.

The first phase will be played between 30 October and 12 December, a period in which the teams will fight to obtain the best classification in order to reach the next phase in the best possible position. After this first stage of competition, the championship again establishes three groups that will be played simultaneously according to the classification position of each team in the first round: gold, silver and bronze phases. This intermediate phase will be played between 29 January and 13 March and will serve as a precedent for a third phase in which the semi-finals and finals of each group will be held.

The matches will be played on Wednesdays and Thursdays each week at approximately 12:00 to 16:00, with each team playing a minimum of twelve matches and a maximum of fourteen in the competition.

The list of participating teams and the composition of the groups is as follows:

GROUP A

Montepinar FC, Dynamo Santander, Conductores FC, Pirris, Minguetis FC, UD Alicates and Viki Boys.

GROUP B

La Richineta, UD Escondrijo, Rock N Rolas, Euromany B, Recreativo de Juerga, Descanso and Sr. Lon.

GROUP C

Malaquito de Memphis, Jäger City, Roja Directa, Bordaleta FC, Jal’s Mafia, Espartanos and Ontoria FC.
