The student and delegate of Business Administration and Management (ADE) of the Universidad Europea del Atlántico (European University of the Atlantic, UNEATLANTICO), Marcelo Solís, spoke at the LV National Congress of Student Representatives of Economics and Business Studies, organised by the Spanish Association of Students of Economics and Business Studies (AEALCEE), held at the University Rey Juan Carlos in Madrid.
This national meeting brought together delegates and student representatives from more than forty universities in Spain, making it an essential place to reflect together on the challenges of the university system, the strengthening of student representation and the creation of leaders involved in the academic, institutional and social development of our universities.
For five days, Solís participated in working sessions, attended specialised presentations, group dynamics and plenary sessions where topics such as educational quality, digitalisation, the role of youth leadership, the relationship between university and business, the status of scholarship holders and the future of double degrees were debated.
In addition, one of the greatest values of this congress was the direct access to specialised training with leading professionals, thanks to the participation of entities such as KPMG, PwC, EY, Cobas Asset Management, Instituto de Censores Jurados de Cuentas de España, Instituto de Actuarios, ISIC, Consejo General de Economistas, the IEB and other top-level study centres and consultancy firms. In addition, conference attendees had the opportunity to attend a conference given by the Deputy Governor of the Bank of Spain, which addressed the current macroeconomic outlook and the role of the student as an active agent of economic and social development.
It should be noted that the presence of members of the UNEATLANTICO university community at this type of event opens the door to collaboration with other universities, thus establishing links, both in the development of joint activities and in the exchange of good practices in representation and extracurricular training.
Aparicio, Vice-Rector of UNEATLANTICO and Director of the Degree in Business Administration and Management, promotes this type of meetings of the Delegates of Business Administration and Management through the University and from the Board of Directors of CONFEDE (Spanish Conference of Deans of Economics and Business), whose vision and commitment to the role of student representation has been fundamental in supporting this type of experience.
