Half a hundred students from various countries of Africa, America and Europe went to the Magdalena Palace accompanied by Esperanza Gutierrez and Cristina Mendez representatives of the Office of International Relations (ORI) as well as Laura Saiz , Director of Institutional Relations of UNEATLANTICO for a guided tour offered by the City of Santander. The visit to the Palace was chaired by the councilor of Culture, Youth and Education of the City of Santander, Noemí Méndez Fernández.
During the tour of the facilities, students were able to learn about the different spaces, their history and current use of the palace, as well as the importance of this emblematic place as a symbol of the city and a venue for academic and cultural events. To conclude the meeting, the students went to the outside areas of the palace where they appreciated the architecture and landscape of the place.
The new members of the UNEATLANTICO community described the experience as enriching because it allowed them to know first hand the history of the palace, as well as cultural and heritage aspects of the city of Santander.
It should be noted that this traditional activity, organized in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Education, reaffirms the commitment of the university and the city of Santander to integrating and accompanying its international students, Encouraging their integration into local culture.
