The Universidad Europea del Atlantico (European University of the Atlantic) (UNEATLANTICO), through its Office for Cooperation and Social Action (OCAS)has once again joined the Cantabria Blood Donor Brotherhood Foundation (HDSC) to promote a solidarity donation day on its campus.
For the day, an HDSC mobile unit was installed and a classroom was made available in which doctors, nurses and health staff accompanied the donors throughout the process. Before each extraction, it was verified that the volunteers met the necessary requirements, thus ensuring safety and hygiene at every step of the day.
In addition to blood donation, the health team informed and encouraged members of the university community to also join the bone marrow donor registry, resolving doubts and offering personalized guidance to those who showed interest.
The response from the university community was very positive, showing UNEATLANTICO’s collective commitment to solidarity and social welfare. With initiatives such as this, the university reinforces its active role in promoting health and supporting the Cantabrian community, contributing to and raising awareness about the importance of blood and bone marrow donation.
