The Universidad Europea del Atlántico (European Atlantic University, UNEATLANTICO) welcomed with great interest the screening of the short film «Tenéis que verlo», the latest work by the renowned Cantabrian filmmaker and university lecturer, Nacho Solana.
The event brought together students, teachers and film lovers around the 16-minute piece, which has been featured in the national film scene. «You have to see it» was presented at the prestigious Seville Film Festival and is supported by the Instituto de la Cinematografía y de las Artes Audiovisuales (ICAA), the Ministry of Culture, the Government of Spain, and the This underlines the quality and recognition of the project.
The short, written by Jordi Farga, part of a daily situation. The plot focuses on the visit of Luis, played by Pablo Gómez-Pando, and Ana, who is brought to life by Paula Usero, a couple friend who has just had a baby. What starts as a social encounter quickly turns into a nightmare situation when they discover that «something is wrong in that house».
The screening was followed by a question and answer session in which the students talked to Solana about the shooting process, creative decisions and sources of inspiration that shaped the short film.
Through anecdotes, technical challenges and reflections on audiovisual narrative, the students had access to a valuable insight into professional film work.
