For her part, Lucía Jaramillo stressed that the Government of Ecuador is working on a reform of the Human Mobility Law, with the aim of incorporating the figure of circular migration. Measure that will allow Ecuadorians to work legally and temporarily abroad, strengthening the ties of international cooperation.
Nuria San Millán also stressed the importance of fostering Ecuadorian talent and supporting those who migrate in search of opportunities. San Millán also mentioned the work of Transforming Futures in cultural and educational projects linked to the blue economy and innovation, and proposed the creation of a “Vital Alsar Chair”, in honor of the navigator who historically united Cantabria and Guayaquil, as a space to promote entrepreneurship, creativity and cooperation between Ecuador and Spain.
During the day, the Ecuadorian students spoke about their concerns regarding their future work in their different fields, as well as about the shortcomings they perceive in their country in this field. Once each of the young people had finished expressing their ideas, they were given the opportunity to write down their suggestions and contact details on a sheet of paper in order to maintain communication and encourage collaboration between them.
