The 8th edition of the UNEATLANTICO Debating League kicks off

The Debate League of the European University of the Atlantic (UNEATLANTICO) has become one of the emblematic activities of the university. This year marks its eighth edition and the students will debate the following question: ‘Is the Pact for the Future proposed by the UN a useful tool to improve the quality of life of the European population?

One more year, prior to the Debate League, UNEATLANTICO offered a free public speaking course. This training was given by great specialists: Mónica Bóbeda, creator of ‘El Show de la Palabra’, Ángel Domingo, Communication Director of LEDU and Diego Nagore and Juan Jesús López, members of Equipo Europa.

The European Atlantic University Debate League is a combination of intellectual competition and training for each student. The aim of this activity is, as Luis Eduardo Prado, director of the league, states, ‘that students have an opportunity to test and improve some of their soft skills, such as communication skills, creativity and the capacity for continuous learning and development’. Similarly, Prado said he was pleased with the increase in the number of students participating in this edition of the league, assuring that ‘their participation will be of great value to their academic, personal and professional development’.

As in previous editions, each team will consist of a minimum of three and a maximum of five members, one of them playing the role of captain, who will be in charge of talking to the referees and judges.
