The students of the Degree in Gastronomy of the European University of the Atlantic (UNEATLANTICO) attended the Gastronomika congress, held at the Kursaal Palace in San Sebastian. Gastronomika is an event of relevance in the world cuisine.
First of all, the congress was inaugurated with an opening ceremony in which the public and the participants were welcomed. Subsequently, different tributes were held, such as the presentation of the San Sebastian Gastronomika Tribute Award, the Gastronomic Journalism Award, the Golden Guéridon Award, among others. In addition, a series of activities were organised to make the event a complete culinary experience, such as presentations, live cooking and conversations with the public present.
During the event, different renowned professionals in the area of gastronomy participated, including chef Kristian Baumann, Marco Antonio Iniesta and Ana Moura, among others.
The university students attended the exhibitions organised at the event, where they were able to learn different culinary techniques and food trends. They also acquired knowledge in the area from the gastronomy professionals who were leading the debates and a variety of activities during the congress.
At the end of the congress, the students went on a tour of the central area of San Sebastian, where they tasted the well-known pintxos, which form part of the local gastronomic tradition.
The San Sebastian Gastronomic Day was not only a learning space for future chefs and gastronomic experts, but also served as an incentive for the creativity of the students in their studies in cooking and food.
For its part, UNEATLANTICO is increasingly committed to the academic development of students, which is why it will continue to support activities in the area of gastronomy for students in the Gastronomy degree, in which they can acquire knowledge about international cuisine and how to improve their culinary techniques.
