On August 8, at the Filmoteca de Cantabria, the first Conference of Young Cantabrian Filmmakers was held, in which nine short films were screened. Of these, five were directed by students and alumni of the degree in Audiovisual Communication of the European University of the Atlantic (UNEATLANTICO).
The purpose of this film showcase was to make visible and interconnect new talents in the audiovisual field, contributing to the growth of cinema in the region, like other similar initiatives that have emerged in recent decades.
The short films address a variety of themes, demonstrating the diversity and complexity of their creations. Some of these projects have already received awards and recognition, while others are in the process of being selected for national and international festivals.
