Between February 24 and March 19, the Vice Rector for International Relations and Secretary General of the Universidad Europea del Atlántico (European University of the Atlantic, UNEATLANTICO), Dr. Roberto Ruiz, made an extensive tour of the Central American region to promote the internationalization processes of the university campus, as well as to offer universities with which there is already a collaboration agreement the possibility of accepting new undergraduate and postgraduate degrees (masters and doctorates), double degrees, and to promote mobility programs and temporary stays for students and teachers.
During their stay in Central America, meetings were held with the academic authorities of the main universities in Guatemala, Honduras, El Salvador, and Costa Rica. Along these lines, Roberto Ruiz, representing UNEATLANTICO, succeeded in forging new inter-university alliances and expanding existing cooperation agreements. Among the universities with which Ruiz held meetings in Guatemala are Universidad Panamericana (UPANA), Universidad Rafael Landívar, Universidad Mariano Gálvez, Universidad San Pablo. In the same vein, it is worth mentioning the Universidad Tecnológica Centroamericana (UNITEC), Universidad Cecilio del Valle, and Universidad Católica, renowned institutions in Honduras. Ruiz also held meetings with the heads of the Escuela Superior de Economía y Negocios (ESEN) and Universidad Don Bosco-Salesianos de El Salvador. In Costa Rica, he visited the Universidad Internacional de las Américas (UIA), the Universidad Latinoamericana de Ciencia y Tecnología (ULACIT), and the Universidad Latina de Costa Rica.
Finally, Ruiz highlighted the meetings held with the General Consuls of Spain in Guatemala, Honduras, and El Salvador to inform about the current international admission processes of students to UNEATLANTICO and the procedures for student visas.
Awarding of UNEATLANTICO titles
During his stay in the four countries he visited in Central America, the secretary general of UNEATLANTICO was present during the awarding ceremonies of the postgraduate degrees of the university’s students who are pursuing their master’s and doctoral degrees remotely. It should be noted that the event held in Costa Rica was attended by the Spanish Ambassador to Costa Rica, Ms. Eva Martínez. On the other hand, Mr. Carlos de la Morena, Spanish Ambassador to El Salvador, was present at the event held in El Salvador. In addition, representatives of the Ministries of Education and Culture of the respective Central American countries participated in each of the events.
