The European Atlantic University (UNEATLANTICO) received for the third year Raúl Torres, a member of the Congress of Mexico City, who gave an open talk to students from all levels of UNEATLANTICO, including Business Administration (ADE), Audiovisual Communication (CA) Journalism (PER), and Food Science and Technology (CTA).
Before the talk, the deputy held a meeting with the rector of UNEATLANTICO, Rubén Calderón, in which they discussed topics such as the globalization of the classroom and the impact of international education on the professional development of students.
During his speech, Torres focused on sharing his experience as a student abroad, highlighting the academic, professional and personal opportunities that arise from studying outside his home country. He stressed the value of international education promoted by UNEATLANTICO, an institution that welcomes a growing number of students from Latin America, Africa and Asia.
Torres, who studied in the United States at Harvard University in Boston, encouraged young people to make the most of their education, reflect on their goals and look for ways to contribute with innovative proposals both in their home countries and in international arenas.
He also shared personal aspects of his career, empathizing with the challenges faced by international students: cultural adaptation, family distance, academic demands and loneliness. Despite these challenges, he highlighted the courage of those who choose to study away from home and the transformative potential that each has.
To conclude, Raúl Torres encouraged attendees to continue developing ideas and projects with positive impact, noting that opportunities in Latin America and other regions continue to grow. He also emphasized the importance of international cooperation between countries such as Spain and Mexico, and how these partnerships strengthen mutual progress.
