The distinguished Congressman of Mexico City, Raúl Torres, visited the facilities of the Universidad Europea del Atlántico (European Atlantic University) (UNEATLANTICO). The vice-rector for academic planning, Silvia Aparicio Obregón, accompanied by Professor Luis Eduardo Prado González, welcomed him to the campus.
The international representation of the campus, made up of students from Africa, America, and Europe, is one of the major attractions of the university community that caught Torres’ attention. As well as 30% of the student body at UNEATLANTICO, Raúl Torres also studied abroad, so he understands first-hand the challenges and needs of the international student.
Classroom intervention with UNEATLANTICO students
Luis Prado, professor of the Fundamentals of Public Relations subject, extended an invitation to Torres to speak to students of the following degrees: Business Administration and Management, Audiovisual Communication, Applied Languages, Advertising and Public Relations, as well as students taking the University Expert in International Relations, on the contribution of public relations in the diplomatic sector. During his speech, within the framework of the aforementioned subject, Torres highlighted the importance of having students from all over the world in UNEATLANTICO’s classrooms. According to Raul Torres, this helps both local and international students to have an education with a view to understanding the globalization of the world and the need to know different points of view.
The present students had the opportunity to ask him questions on various topics, such as the functioning of public relations in the public and private sector, both nationally and internationally.
