The Academic Director of the degrees in Applied Languages (LA) and Translation and Interpreting (TI) of the European University of the Atlantic (UNEATLANTICO), Paula Quijano, through the Erasmus+ program travels for the third consecutive year to the University of Jan Kochanowski, located in Poland. There, she has taught classes on translation and translatology.
Every year, she travels to Kielce (Poland) to the University of Jan Kochanowski. During her stay on this occasion she has taught classes that have focused on the morphological differences between English and German, with a focus on the problems with translations that may arise as a result of this.
Along the same lines, the classes taught by Paula Quijano in Kielce during her stay in 2023 have been “Introduction to English Translatology” and “Didactics of Translation and Teaching German as a Foreign Language”.
International engagement
As mentioned, this is the third consecutive year that teacher Paula Quijano has made this stay in Poland through the Erasmus+ program. She has commented that her experience has been “very rewarding, both personally and professionally”.
In December 2023, she was invited by UNICOLLEGE to an institutional trip to its headquarters in Turin, where she gave a lecture on “Engaging with Post-Editing in the Academic Setting: A Practical Case in the Scientific Translation”.
This mobility highlights the international and global spirit of UNEATLANTICO, with which the university community is enriched. Likewise, both teachers and students are invited to register and live an ERASMUS+ experience.
