Paula Quijano, academic director of the Degree in Translation and Language Teaching (TEL) at the European University of the Atlantic (UNEATLANTICO), carried out a translation in the Journal of Translatology Hermēneus, of a text originally written in German in the nineteenth century entitled ‘Firm Hope’ written by the author Adalbert Stifter.

The translation received a top rating in the journal’s impact, which is called a philological translation, i.e. it has a scientific method behind it, which required an arduous process of documentation both from the socio-cultural point of view of the time and in the literary field.

This work is particularly relevant since the publication of his translation had not been published to date, due to the fact that it comes from an author who is little known in Hispanic literature, Adalbert Stfter, a 19th century writer of Austrian origin, and to the complexity of the German language at the time.

Quijano had previously published other unpublished translations of this same author, as her line of research is based on the interpretation of religious texts through translations. The UNEATLANTICO professor also explained that these translations are important

The translations are also of a remarkable religious nature, not only because they had not been published to date, but also because of the manifestation of the role played by religion in 19th century Austrian society, which is illustrated through this text and this translation.
