Dr. Paula Quijano, academic director of the degree in Translation and Interpretation and Applied Languages, Translation and Language Teaching (TEL) at the Universidad Europea del Atlántico (European University of the Atlantic, UNEATLANTICO), has delivered a presentation at an International Congress on Artificial Intelligence organized by Unicollege SSML, located in Florence, Italy.
The paper entitled “Is AI good in virtue of its ends, or is it good in virtue of its adherence to ethical principles?” An ongoing discussion from an ethical-philosophical perspective”, given by Quijano, had as its main focus to analyze Artificial Intelligence from an ethical-philosophical point of view, specifically from a Kantian deontological and an Aristotelian teleological perspective. Thus, the question asked for the presentation was: is AI good in its purpose or good in its ethics?
The congress was held virtually over 5 days, bringing together professionals from different institutions and disciplines. In total, 20 presentations were given by different professionals from 7 different countries.
