The Universidad Europea del Atlántico (European University of the Atlantic, UNEATLANTICO), through its Physical Activity and Sports Service (PASS) and in collaboration with the Royal Cantabrian Soccer Federation (RFCF), has successfully held the fourth edition of its Futsal League, an event that has become a staple within the university community and which, on this occasion, was held in memory of Raúl Ramírez Osorio.
The tournament brought students together in an atmosphere of camaraderie, sportsmanship, and healthy competition, with teams demonstrating a high level of play throughout the various matchdays.
The finals in each category featured some very exciting matches. In the Bronze Cup, LFAM UNEAT was crowned champion after defeating Roja Directa 4-0. In the Silver Cup, Espartanos and Legionarios tied 2-2, with the title decided in a penalty shootout, where Espartanos prevailed and claimed victory. Finally, in the Gold Cup, Minguetis won the championship after defeating Nottingham Esperanzas 6-2.
The Gold Cup winner, Minguetis, had the opportunity to compete in the Champions Cup against the University of Cantabria (UCE), securing a decisive 9-3 victory. Thanks to this result, the team will represent UNEATLANTICO in the Spanish University Championship, to be held in Granada, where it will compete against the country’s top universities.
