‘Matame cornudo’ wins the award for best short film at the IV UNEATLANTICO Short Film Festival gala

The Universidad Europea del Atlántico (European University of the Atlantic, UNEATLANTICO) hosted the gala for the 4th UNEATLANTICO Short Film Festival. A total of twenty short films were submitted to this fourth edition, and eight prizes were awarded by the jury in the different sections of the competition.

The gala was presented by Paula Díaz-Velarde, a student on the Journalism degree course (PER). Before the awards ceremony, dancers from the dance academy, TheLab Dance Studio, opened the festival with their performance.

One of the highlights was the presentation of the Federico Fernández Special Award in recognition of the extensive professional career of Cristobal García, a Cantabrian producer from La Terraza Films, who has a distinguished career in the industry and whose short film Segundo premio won eleven nominations and three Goya Awards.

This was followed by the presentation of the awards. The students of UNEATLANTICO were in charge of this task, displaying their humour and charm. First, the award for best sound was announced, which went to Víctor Díaz for ‘El rostro’. The award for best actress went to Isabel Talavera for ‘Santos y pecadores’. In addition, Óscar Sua-Ibañez was recognised as best actor for ‘A salvo’.
