During his concerts, Gil de Gálvez will perform pieces by Vivaldi, Mozart, Usandizaga, Gerónimo Giménez, Manuel de Falla, Kreisler, Granados, Brahms, Elgar, Part, and Monasterio, among other artists.

This is the second tour that this musician has made through Central America under the auspices of the Cultural Work. Earlier this year he gave several concerts in Guatemala and El Salvador.

Gil de Gálvez is a multifaceted artist who approaches music from different perspectives: performance, pedagogy, dissemination, management and research, with the violin, his instrument, and orchestral conducting as the common thread. Since 1996, he has been First Violin and leader of the prestigious Spanish string orchestra Concerto Málaga.

As a conductor, he debuted at the Teatro Nacional of El Salvador and obtained great success conducting the Orquesta Filarmónica Nacional de Venezuela at the Teatro Teresa Carreño in Caracas.

Among his academic merits, he holds an International Doctorate “cum laude by unanimous decision” in music and education from the University of Málaga. He obtained the official postgraduate degree of Master of Arts in Classical String Performance in violin and chamber music with the highest qualification (First Class with Honors) awarded by the University of Limerick (Ireland).

As a researcher and disseminator, he is a member of the Editorial Board of the magazine Descubrir la Historia, of the Sociedad Española de Musicología, and a regular contributor to the specialized magazine Melómano and the newspaper La Opinión de Málaga, with countless publications, both scientific and dissemination, mainly aimed at the appreciation of music of Hispanic roots and inspiration.

By acclamation of its board of trustees, he is president of Fundación Hispania Música, a center affiliated with UNEATLANTICO, which is part of the network of educational institutions of FUNIBER. The entity, based in Málaga, is focused on research, pedagogy, and dissemination of Hispanic chamber music of all times, which it represents before the International Music Council (IMC) of UNESCO.
