The European University of the Atlantic is launching a Language Support Service. This service was created by the doctor and director of the degrees in Translation and Interpreting and Applied Languages, Araceli Alonso and the teacher Rubén Pérez and will be led by the students Álvaro de la Granja and Irene Pérez. An excellent initiative given the high percentage of international students at UNEATLANTICO.
“Our aim will be to help students who have difficulties with language learning. Not only with learning a foreign language, but also with issues related to the Spanish language that may be difficult to learn,” said Álvaro de la Granja.
In the same vein, Irene Pérez, stresses that this service “seeks to create a space for cultural and linguistic exchange and to help international students to improve their conversations in Spanish”.
As Dr Araceli Alonso points out, “this is an initiative promoted by and for students, to help them with language difficulties to improve and practice language learning and also to promote cultural and intercultural diversity within the university campus”.
Rubén Pérez, for his part, says that his job as a teacher is “to supervise the students who run the service, although what is really interesting is that they manage it themselves and that other students take over from them in the future”.
Those interested in this service can do so by emailing servicio.linguistico@uneatlantico.es or by going to the office on floor 0 next to the Sports Service.
