Dr. Iñaki Elío, Secretary of the Professional Association of Dietitians-Nutritionists of Cantabria (CODINUCAN), and Director of the Degree in Human Nutrition and Dietetics (NHD), gives a talk to the students of the 4th year of the Degree of the European University of the Atlantic (UNEATLANTICO).
Elío presented the CONDINUCAN entity, which was founded in 2015, to the final year students of the degree, with the aim of promoting the professional advancement of the career in Cantabria. He began the conference by introducing the school a little, explaining that it is the entity that watches over and promotes the proper development of Human Nutrition, Dietetics and Food in the broadest sense of health. In addition, it oversees the organization of the professional practice, in accordance with the deontological criteria of the profession.
He also explained that the College collaborates with the public administration for the promotion of the figure of the Dietitian-Nutritionist, and to promote an adequate attention to the citizen in matters of nutrition, dietetics and food. Elío stressed that despite this, the main objective of the College is in favor of Dietitians-Nutritionists and seeks to achieve the maximum benefit of the profession, as well as the beneficiaries of the dietary and nutritional guideline from their different areas of care.
In addition, the talk highlighted that the main advantage of membership is the representation of the profession through a public law corporation acting at all levels of the profession and protecting dietitians-nutritionists, as well as citizens in the public interest and in the protection and promotion of health.
