The Cultural Work of FUNIBER, in collaboration with the Universidad Europea del Atlántico (European University of the Atlantic, UNEATLANTICO), is presenting an exhibition of Pablo Picasso’s «La Celestina» in the lobby of the Auditorium Theater of the Technological University of Panama.
The exhibition, which will run from August 13 to September 12 this year, will allow visitors to immerse themselves in Picasso’s artistic genius. In 1971, the renowned artist selected 66 engravings from the 347 series, created in 1968, to be included in the edition of the book «La Célestine» by Spanish writer Fernando de Rojas, which was being prepared by l’Atelier Crommelynck.
The engravings from «La Celestina» offer a fascinating insight into two contrasting treatments: from dynamic scenes where the characters move frantically, to static moments that capture contemplation and seduction. This exhibition is a unique opportunity to appreciate the diversity of Picasso’s work and his interpretation of this iconic literary story.
